macOS default browser · free and open source
Every link on the right track.
Wye becomes your default browser and sends each link to the right browser and profile. A rule decides; when none does, a keyboard popup asks. You see it for a second, then the link is open.

One link in, one track out
01
A link arrives
From Slack, Mail, Notion or the terminal. Wye is the default browser, so every http and https link comes to it first.
02
A rule decides
One line per rule in a text file: a glob, then a profile. The first match wins, and the link opens straight in that profile.
03
Or you pick
No rule? A popup lists your profiles and browsers. Press 1 to 9, hold ⇧ for a private window, ⌥ to stay where you are.
Rules you can read
No settings screen to click through. Rules live in ~/.config/browser-picker/rules.conf, are read again for every link, and the app window shows which one a URL hits.
# Clean links before routing them @strip-trackers @unwrap-redirects # glob target github.com/acme/* Pro *.atlassian.net/* Pro linear.app/* Pro figma.com/* Pro youtube.com/* Perso *.apple.com/* Safari

Small, and it stays out of the way
Every Chromium profile
Reads your profiles from Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Chromium and Helium, in their own order, with their colours and pictures.
Keyboard first
The popup takes the keyboard without stealing focus from the app you clicked in. Escape or a click outside opens nothing.
Cleaner links
Strip utm_* and friends, unwrap Outlook and Google redirects, upgrade to HTTPS. Each one is a line you turn on.
Never loses a link
If a browser fails to open, the link falls back to Chrome, then Safari. Every link and choice is written to a log.
A window that checks
Open Wye by hand to see whether it is the default browser, whether it can read your profiles, and which rules are broken.
Force the question
Hold fn while clicking a link to skip the rules and choose by hand, just this once.
